What is a Community Sponsorship Group?

Find out how you can support Restart on the Wirral.

Community Sponsorship is a scheme set up by the government in 2016. The purpose of the scheme is to bring communities together, whilst working towards the shared goal of helping refugees make a home for themselves in the UK.

We help refugee families integrate with our community by supporting them with housing, learning English, finances, and much more.

Get Involved

Whether you live on the Wirral or further afield, we would treasure your contribution.

Volunteer.

If you live on the Wirral or in the surrounding areas and would like to get involved with Restart, please get in touch to discuss how you might like to contribute. Our volunteers turn their hand to many different activities — from assisting refugee families with accessing critical services to simply spending time with them to make them feel welcome.

Fundraise.

To meet the criteria of the Community Sponsorship scheme, we have to hit challenging fundraising targets for each refugee family. If you would like to contribute to Restart, we’d be thrilled for you to join our fundraising team or organise your own individual fundraiser with our support. This could be anything from a sponsored run to a bake sale.

Donate.

Every penny we raise is spent on welcoming refugee families onto the Wirral, ensuring that they have appropriate housing, that their children are enrolled in local schools, and that they have access to all the services and opportunities necessary to live a fulfilling life in the UK. All donations are appreciated, big or small.

Corporate Support.

If you’re a business and our cause resonates with you, we would be grateful for all donations — if you’d like to make a financial donation, you can do so via our website. If you’d like to donate a product or service for raffle, please get in touch with our team. All businesses that donate will have the option of being featured on our website, as a thank you!
